In 1932 Patrick McConnell left Ireland looking for employment.
Like the thousands from the Emerald Isle before him, he found work at Palmers Shipyard in Jarrow.
He lived and worked in ‘Little Ireland’, as it became known, for the rest of his life. Today, the town’s Irish heritage is celebrated in a stout that he would be proud of.
Inspired by the story of Little Ireland and brewed in Jarrow by his grandson, McConnell’s is a rich creamy stout, with a long lingering liquorice taste and pale chocolate finish.
ABV 4.6%
